“Ironically 2020 has been the best year of my life”

Bailey Smith has been a member of MADSKYs contractor network for three years. In 2020, his company AAA Home and Property Restorations joined MADSKY. We spoke with Bailey about the unusual year—2020.

Marina from MADSKY: So… it’s December. The year went by so fast.

Bailey: I actually just had a baby two weeks ago. It’s going by extremely fast.

Reflecting back on 2020, how would you describe it?

It’s got its ups and downs. With the pandemic and the unknown of everything thats going on in the world today… you don’t know what to expect. But overall, 2020 has been the best year of my life, and that’s what’s ironic about it. It’s been the year of great growth for my company.

I never expected that. It’s always been a goal, and it happened in the year where a lot of people are having problems and not knowing what to expect. It was a bit overwhelming at times, but I wouldn’t change anything.

Ultimately, of course, I put the work and dedication into getting everything that I need to be able to do this. The partnership with MADSKY has been a real boost for sure, and them believing in me. I get most of my jobs through MADSKY.

What was the biggest lesson of 2020 for you?

Not to expect anything. The world is unpredictable and sometimes you just have to take chances. When you get that feeling, just jump for it.

What drives you to persevere?

I have goals of doing a lot of things. I want to grow my team so we can cover every area of Georgia. I also dream of having land and rental properties.

What’s your expectation for 2021?

To double my revenue despite everything else thats going on, because at the end of the day, this is a recession-proof industry. People are always going to have roofs that need to be fixed.

What difference did MADSKY make for your company?

It’s been everything, honestly. A big part of the business that we’re getting at the moment is from MADSKY, and it’s been an interesting and life-changing journey, for sure.

What tips would you share with our network of contractors?

Saying what you’re going to do and following through with it is pretty much all it takes to make a customer feel 100% satisfied that theyve got the best work.

Also, making sure that you’re staying on top of your MADSKY notes, and contacting whoever needs to be contacted in that specific file. I try to make their job easier. They don’t have to really ask questions because all the updates are there. They just know that when Bailey’s out there to do something, it’s going to get done.

Doing what needs to be done is really the key to our success.
